A groundbreaking ceremony on March 7, 2023, celebrated the start of construction of Los Arcos, VIDA’s first apartment complex. The ceremony was attended by community leaders, the San Antonio mayor, and the VIDA team.
At the groundbreaking, Mayor Nirenberg highlighted the importance of diverse housing options in the city and how this project would serve San Antonio’s southside community. The mayor emphasized that this project was just the beginning—and that the city is committed to supporting more initiatives like this in the future.
“The groundbreaking of Los Arcos at VIDA is a significant step toward meeting our SHIP (Strategic Housing Implementation Plan) goals…” Nirenberg later posted on Instagram.

About Los Arcos at VIDA
Los Arcos is one of several projects coming to VIDA that will provide diverse housing options and resources in the community. The apartment complex is located along S. Zarzamora St. within the VIDA community, which is adjacent to Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
Developed by NRP, Los Arcos will include a variety of floor plans and community spaces for residents to gather and socialize, including a pool, dog park and playground. Los Arcos is the first of a number of apartment communities within the 600-acre VIDA San Antonio development, which will also include single family homes, duplexes, townhomes and planned student housing.
